If you've ever dreamed of owning a Texas Longhorn but thought they were too big, we’ve got great news—Miniature Longhorns give you all the charm, personality, and iconic horns in a smaller, easier-to-manage size! They’re perfect for small farms, hobby ranches, or anyone who just loves unique, friendly cattle. Mini Longhorns must meet height requirements of the breed standard. Miniature Texas Longhorn cows must be 45" or less at the hook bone, Bulls 48" or less and Steers 50" or less.

Miniature Cattle can be seen across America's small farms and ranches.They are becoming quite popular for small properties to help maintain agricultural AG Exemptions. Create Homesteads, participate in the show world or to simply have a beautiful miniature herd of longhorns.

These smaller versions of their larger counterparts are derived from years of breeding down to this size. Some breeders still introduce outside genetics from small standards to add traits to their herds and continue to focus on breeding to the optimal size.

These little Longhorns are hardy, low-maintenance, and full of character. Whether you’re looking for a lovable pasture pet, an option for the show ring, or a stunning addition to your land, I am here to help you find the perfect match.

Cattle Heritage

Miniature Texas Longhorns at HHR were all hand selected from multiple breeders here in Texas. I chose cattle that would produce and compete in the show ring.

Many of the cattle shown here have past show careers and a link to their winnings are provided.

The Miniature longhorns at HHR are of Butler breeding and Blended genetics. The cows have brought with them the body type, and desired traits I wanted in my herd.

The Herd bull was chosen for body mass, top line and good foot and bone . This bull came from a known breeder of competitive cattle.

All of the cattle are Registered with TLBAA and some are dual registered with the ITLA as well.

Ranch Location

HHR Welcomes you to visit to see the herd and cattle that are currently available. Appointments are needed to ensure availability and plenty of time to spend with the herd and talk about Miniature longhorns.
